Sources and word selection
Each letter maps to one digit; several letters share a key, so different words can have the same digit sequence. The fixed 06 prefix does not count. Always dial the full number. This is not a separate calling service or a registered business name.
The Dutch words were selected by hand from the word list published by OpenTaal . This is a limited selection of everyday Dutch words, not a full dictionary. The letter mapping follows ITU-T E.161 . The word selection and BSD licence notice are available.
We picked the English words ourselves: everyday, neutral words without brand names. Each word passes both the British and the American spell checker.
The names are our own selection of common Dutch and English first names, without accents: Zoë is listed as zoe.
